Job Summary
Lead the HSE management system at Jalapa site in Guatemala, overseeing risk assessments, incident reporting, audits, training, contractor management, environmental and waste programs, and regulatory compliance to align with Syngenta’s HSE standards and local regulations. Responsibilities include maintaining and improving the HSE Management System, leading risk assessment processes, monitoring HSE KPIs, managing incident reporting in Reliance/Enablon, coordinating internal and external audits, overseeing emergency response, driving training and competence programs, ensuring environmental permits and licenses, and coordinating with regulatory authorities. Requires field leadership presence, analytical and communication skills, and ability to drive continuous improvement across site operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years in an operational HSE role with direct field exposure
- Experience leading internal and external HSE audits, including corrective action management
- Experience managing HSE compliance for contractor and temporary workforces
- Experience implementing or maintaining an occupational health program (exposure monitoring, medical surveillance)
- Experience working under regulatory inspection from environmental or labor authorities
- Internal auditor certification - HSE or equivalent management system
- Analytical and detail-oriented
