Job Summary
HSE Coordinator responsible for coordinating and maintaining the company's HSE program across active commercial, residential, and mixed-use construction projects in the Calgary region. Primary duties include managing COR certification requirements and ongoing compliance, conducting site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments, leading new worker orientations and safety training, investigating incidents and near-misses, developing corrective action plans, assisting project teams with site-specific safety plans and documentation, ensuring compliance with provincial legislation and industry best practices, and maintaining safety records and regulatory documentation while promoting a positive safety culture across field and office personnel.
Required Qualifications
- NCSO designation (or equivalent safety certification) preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a construction safety role
- Strong knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation and COR requirements
- Experience on active commercial, residential, or mixed-use construction projects
- Strong incident investigation, inspection, and hazard assessment experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive working relationships with field and office teams
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital safety management systems
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel between project sites within the Calgary region
