Job Summary
HSE Coordinator will support the HSE Manager to reinforce Bird Construction’s health, safety, and environment program on a Kamloops project site. Responsibilities include partnering with site leadership to foster a proactive safety culture, coaching field personnel on HSE matters, identifying and controlling site hazards, ensuring incident reporting/investigation and corrective actions, maintaining an HSE bulletin board, ensuring PPE and equipment compliance, facilitating toolbox and safety meetings, reviewing safety practices and daily field observations, liaising between client and crew on HSE concerns, performing site inspections, and leading ongoing orientation/training initiatives. Requires NCSO designation and CRSP or an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate, 5+ years HSE field experience, strong communication, and ability to work with both unionized and non-unionized trades. The role is based on a project site in Kamloops, BC, Canada, with a focus on safety leadership and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- NCSO designation required
- CRSP or Occupational Health and Safety Certificate
- Standard First Aid – Advanced first aid an asset
- 5+ years’ HSE field experience
- End-User Fall Protection, Confined Space
- Valid Drivers License
- WCB claim management understanding
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with both unionized and non-unionized trades
