HSE Consulant and Asbestos Project Manager

Job Summary
Manage asbestos, lead, and PCB assessment projects, including sample collection, hazard evaluations, and abatement design. Act as the direct client representative on-site, oversee contractors, and recommend remedial actions or stop work when public safety is jeopardized. Prepare technical reports, manage project schedules, and interface with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance. Develop work plans, review background materials, and create specifications for major abatement projects. Maintain required certifications and high ethical standards while driving account expansion and financial project management. Based in the New York City metropolitan area with travel to project sites as required.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience performing and managing environmental consulting projects
- experience performing and managing environmental consulting projects, specifically, the assessment, testing, and management of regulated and potentially hazardous building materials (asbestos, lead, PCBs, etc.)
- required certifications necessary to sample and assess these types of materials
- working knowledge of Industrial Hygiene exposure sampling
- working knowledge of Indoor Air Quality
- working knowledge of mold investigations and sampling techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- based in the New York City metropolitan area
- travel to project sites as required
- Maintain required certifications mandated by the regulations
- Understanding of building engineering and structural design knowledge of site planning
- Must make independent, on-site judgments based upon professional experience to advise or recommend to contractors alternative ways of performing work subject to specified cost and regulatory compliance
