Job Summary
Lead and implement the Project Safety Management Plan for a large-scale Ontario highway project, deliver orientations and training for staff and contractors, perform site observations and record on EcoOnline, lead toolbox talks on high energy and key risks, integrate HSE into work planning, develop JHAs and Safe Work Procedures, conduct internal inspections and audits, investigate incidents, ensure compliance with Ontario OHS and Transport Canada, maintain records, participate in HSE audits, stay current with industry best practices, and support Joint Health and Safety Committees.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate/Diploma and/or degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Professional certifications such as CRSP, NCSO, or equivalent are considered an asset
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a HSE role, on a project of similar scope and complexity
- Experience implementing and maintaining HSE management systems while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Must have previous construction experience
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint) and data analysis tools
- Strong communication, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to travel and support a remote location project
