Job Summary
Provide instructional and supervision support for students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom. Assist in implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, transition, and instructional activities. Support the Special Education Teacher as an active team member for the well-being, supervision, and educational needs of students throughout the day. Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, maintaining an orderly classroom, assisting with records and substitute orientation, supervising students (including transfers and personal care), managing behavior and crisis situations, and adhering to safety and confidentiality protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Two years of study at an institution of higher learning or associate’s degree (per formal academic assessment)
