Job Summary
Monitor and adjust classroom activities to meet district needs while working with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning. Read to students, assist with mastering instructional materials, and guide independent or remedial work assigned by the teacher. Distribute workbooks, collect materials, and support large group activities like drill work and storytelling. Alert certified teachers to student problems and maintain strict confidentiality regarding student records and staff information. Supervise students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips, while assisting with lunch, snack, cleanup, wash-up, and toileting routines. Participate in in-service training programs as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree, preferred or must be able to become Highly Qualified through a national or local academic assessment to meet the Colorado department of education requirements to ensure compliance with ESSA

- Physical Demands: Between sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis and 10 pounds on a frequent basis, occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, overhead reaching and fine motor activity, frequently sitting, standing, walking, balancing, reaching at desk and floor level, firm and simple grasping. The work requires constant seeing, hearing, and talking
