Job Summary
Implements Head Start Performance Standards related to the operation of the classroom and adheres to NAEYC and applicable standards. Leads and coordinates a teaching team, ensuring mandated staff/child ratios, scheduling coverage, and timely completion of tasks (home visits, parent conferences, individual learning plans, assessments). Provides oversight for curriculum planning, safeguarding health and safety, and supporting children with diverse needs. Facilitates collaboration with the Education Services Manager, participates in case management, and coordinates services to families, including transitions within Head Start. Maintains confidentiality, conducts supervision and workshops, and adheres to licensing and ethical standards. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:00 PM; location: West Haven, CT.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field (minimum amount of ECE credits) and two years teaching experience in early childhood setting.
