Job Summary
Instruct athletes in fundamental swim skills, strategy, and physical training while modeling character traits like trustworthiness, respect, and self-discipline. Implement athletic policies and state regulations consistently, serving as a mentor to promote citizenship and monitor grades and conduct. Provide constant safety guidance during practices, games, and travel, and complete paperwork on disabling injuries within 24 hours. Direct student managers, maintain equipment inventory and facility cleanliness, and manage public relations with media, parents, and officials. Plan offseason workouts, fundraising, and youth swim recruitment to build community engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total swim program
- Has previous successful coaching experience
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport
- Valid First Aid card
- Valid Oregon Driver's License
- OSAA certifications
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
- Criminal Background Check
- Pre-employment drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred a head coach at the high school level
