Job Summary
Instruct athletes in fundamental wrestling skills, strategy, and physical training while modeling character development traits like trustworthiness and self-discipline. Implement school athletic policies and state/league regulations consistently, serving as a mentor to promote respect and responsibility. Provide constant guidance and safety during practices, games, and travel, while monitoring grades, conduct, and facility cleanliness. Manage equipment inventory, direct assistants, and complete injury paperwork within 24 hours. Promote youth wrestling through media and community programs, maintaining positive relations with parents, officials, and fans. Plan offseason activities and fundraising, ensuring all participants adhere to safety protocols and authorized building access.
Required Qualifications
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total wrestling program
- Has previous successful coaching experience
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport
- Ability to continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field
- Ability to serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions
- Valid First Aid card
- Valid Oregon Driver's License
- OSAA certifications
- Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance
- Criminal Background Check
- Pre-employment drug screening
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred a head coach at the high school level
