Job Summary
Teach high school Language Arts to English Learners (EL/ENL/ESL) including EL English courses and EL Language Arts Lab/Read 180. Deliver instruction aligned to Indiana Standards and WIDA ELD Standards, using differentiated strategies, data-driven planning, and formative assessment. Prepare lesson plans, maintain grades in PowerSchool, administer and support WIDA ACCESS testing, collaborate with Bilingual Education Specialist and PLCs, and participate in district initiatives (e.g., culturally responsive practices, PBIS). Must hold Indiana License/Certification in Language Arts (9-12) and demonstrate strong classroom management, student engagement, and effective communication with students and parents.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a current Indiana License/Certification in Language Arts in grades 9-12
- EL/ESL/ENL license required
- Master’s degree or higher preferred
- Experience teaching varying levels of English Language Arts courses required
- Previous experience in an urban high school setting preferred
- Must not have had a recommendation for Probation Assistance on most recent evaluation
