Job Summary

Conduct hazard assessments, perform focus audits, and verify corrective actions to ensure compliance with MSHA regulations and industry standards. Provide on-site guidance to operations teams on implementing HS&E programs, address emergency response issues, and lead complex incident investigations to identify root causes. Analyze safety data from inspections and audits to develop action plans addressing HS&E trends, while supporting supervisors in managing occupational injuries and return-to-work processes. This site-based role requires travel to various mining and construction projects across North America.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of practical experience in the mining industry as an HS&E professional
  • In-depth understanding of Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations and 30 Code of Federal Regulations (30 CFR)
  • MSHA instructor card (Blue Card)
  • formal Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) education
  • Demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Proven ability to communicate persuasively and influence stakeholders across all levels of project hierarchy
  • Ability to pass all pre-access requirements including clean driver's abstract and drug screen and breathalyzer
  • All applicants must be able to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States

Desired Qualifications

  • MSHA instructor card (Blue Card) and formal Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) education are an asset
