Job Summary
Gather and prepare classroom materials, monitor children, and maintain a safe, sanitary environment. Assist with lunch and snack preparation, ensuring food storage and temperatures meet Health Department requirements. Complete daily cleaning tasks including sanitizing classrooms, vacuuming, mopping floors, and emptying trash. Participate in required training and develop professional work goals with the Education Supervisor. Maintain regular attendance, adhere to working hours, and accept additional work as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work with young children in an accepting, positive manner
- Must be able to work as a team with educational staff
- Ability to work with low-income families
- Knowledge of basic sanitation and housekeeping procedures
- Good personal hygiene habits
- Ability to work and organize duties in a timely manner
- Food Handler's Certificate
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Oregon driver's license
- Must pass a criminal history background investigation
- Ability to bend, stoop, move, or lift supplies, equipment and children weighing up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual (Spanish/ English)
