Job Summary
Plan and implement the prescribed educational curriculum through engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that advance children's intellectual, social, and physical development. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning while working with typically developing children and those with disabilities. Screen, observe, and document progress using the program's prescribed assessment system. Communicate regularly with parents regarding academic and developmental progress. Work with program management and specialists to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including Head Start standards and Texas Education Agency policies. Supervise purposeful assignments for teaching assistants and volunteers. Maintain accurate records and submit timely reports. Bilingual English/Spanish required for certain assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with young and school-aged children
- Teaching experience
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Highly qualified valid Texas Teaching Certificate
- Results of TEXes exam
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education
- Bachelor degree in another discipline with 18 hours of coursework in early childhood education
