Job Summary
Develops and implements curriculum and instructional plans for middle school students in social studies or history; coaches softball and volleyball; plans and supervises athletic activities; ensures adherence to UIL rules; maintains records and communicates with students, parents, and staff; fosters student-athlete development and positive sportsmanship; participates in district professional development and uses diverse instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certification in assigned content area
- Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Knowledge of UIL rules
- Ability to supervise student athletes
- At least one year student teaching or approved internship
- Experience as coach or participant in sport assigned
