Job Summary
Coach and instruct players individually or in groups regarding sport rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques as determined by the head coach. Assist the head coach in the operation of the athletic program, alignment of systems, and skill development. Provide proper supervision of athletes at all times and monitor academic performance to ensure eligibility requirements are met. Maintain eligibility forms, emergency data cards, equipment inventory, and other related duties. Participate in organizational meetings, parent's night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies while modeling sports-like behavior and nondiscriminatory practices. Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and professional activities to improve coaching performance. Maintain confidentiality and work harmoniously with the public, students, and other employees.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization
- Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Coaching and/or leadership experience
- First Aid and CPR
- Knowledge of conference rules and regulations
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Must be able to attend work on a prompt and regular basis
- Must maintain confidentiality
- Must maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check
- Must successfully pass a child and adult abuse registry check
- Must be able to perform standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying
