Job Summary
Coach and instruct players individually or in groups on rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques as determined by the head coach. Assist the head coach in operating the athletic program, aligning systems, and implementing skill development. Provide proper supervision of athletes at all times and monitor academic performance to ensure eligibility requirements are met. Maintain eligibility forms, emergency data cards, equipment inventory, and other related duties. Participate in organizational meetings, parent's night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies. Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and professional activities to improve coaching performance. Follow state, regional, and district regulations governing the athletic program. Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct toward players, officials, and spectators.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization
- Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Coaching and/or leadership experience
- First Aid and CPR
- Knowledge of conference rules and regulations
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check
- Must successfully pass a child and adult abuse registry check
- Must pass fingerprinting, a drug and alcohol test, a physical capacity test and/or a motor vehicle record check if required for the position
