Job Summary
Maintain, repair, and replace HVAC systems, boilers, cooling towers, and refrigeration equipment to ensure full operational readiness. Diagnose mechanical, plumbing, and electrical issues, trace circuits, and install or repair components like compressors, valves, and motor controls. Perform preventive maintenance, recover refrigerants, and balance loads while adhering to EPA regulations and manufacturer specifications. Complete daily logs, fill out work orders, and support safety plans and emergency response teams during lockdown conditions. This Mission Critical role requires five years of experience and operates under a collective bargaining agreement.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent and participation in relevant apprenticeship program or trades school
- Minimum five (5) years HVAC Mechanic experience
- Universal CFC
- Valid State driver's license
- Possess good organization and communication skills
- Maturity and ability to deal with all levels of people, both inside and outside the company
- Knowledge of various types of air conditioning equipment (split systems, wall a/c units, vav systems, etc.)
- Skilled with pressure gauges, scales, recover equipment, torch sets, brazing equipment, and materials
- Ability to regularly sit and talk or hear
- Ability to use repeated motions that include the arms, wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Ability to occasionally walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
