Job Summary
HR Specialist (Compliance & Support) focusing on benefits, pension administration, PTO and leaves, and Health & Safety programs. Manages group benefits enrollment and billing, liaises with insurers/pension administrators, oversees Leave Management System for PTO and disability leaves, coordinates Return-to-Work protocols, administers WSIB claims, leads workplace Health & Safety program, monitors legislation changes, supports Employee Assistance Program and mental health initiatives, drafts and maintains SOPs for compliance workflows, conducts audits to ensure safety and preparedness, coordinates Joint Health & Safety Committee activities, and provides HRIS data analysis to improve programs. Requires post-secondary HR-related degree/diploma, CHRP preferred, 3–5 years HR experience with benefits/disability/health & safety, HRIS proficiency, strong MS Office skills, and ability to maintain confidential information; travel occasional; eligible to work in Ontario.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- CHRP designation (or working towards) strongly preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in HR, with a focus on benefits administration, disability management, or health and safety
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms
- Advanced skills in Adobe, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong understanding of WSIB procedures and provincial Health & Safety legislation
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Excellent organizational and communication skills for educating staff on benefits and safety topics
- Willingness to travel occasionally and work overtime as required
