Job Summary
HR & Safety Specialist responsible for overseeing workplace safety, regulatory compliance, injury prevention, workers’ compensation administration, and employee training initiatives. Partners with management and site HR to promote a safe work environment, ensure regulatory compliance, support onboarding and recordkeeping, and assist with recruiting support. Develop and maintain safety programs and procedures to meet OSHA/MIOSHA and other regulatory requirements; conduct Job Safety Analyses and hazard assessments; deliver safety training on hazard identification, safe work practices, emergency response, and compliance; perform safety inspections and audits; investigate accidents and incidents with root cause analysis and corrective actions; coordinate safety committee actions and incident reporting; manage workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs; coordinate annual safety training and external trainers; maintain training and HR records; provide guidance on safety compliance, best practices, and risk management in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field (preferred)
- 2-4 years of proven experience in human resources and safety roles
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, OSHA and other safety standards
- Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) and/or safety (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour General Industry) is a plus
