HR Generalist

Job Summary
Conduct investigations, prepare reports, and make recommendations to resolve employee issues based on policy and legal justifications. Provide coaching on professional development, performance investigations, and disciplinary actions. Support the creation and administration of talent management processes, including tracking development plans and succession. Administer HR policies and programs in partnership with supervisors, process necessary forms, and support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding. Maintain knowledge of local, state, and federal labor laws while providing point-of-contact HR support for associate relations. Coordinate training classes and assist HR leadership in executing strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Thorough knowledge of human resource principles and practices
- Computer skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HR/Payroll systems
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and attention to detail skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment
- Strong ability to establish and maintain positive relationships at all levels while maintaining confidentiality
- Strong initiative bias for action and a high sense of urgency
- Able to handle multiple tasks and function in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills – verbal written & presentation; listening
- Self-confidence; not afraid to actively voice an opinion
- Available for travel – when necessary to conduct investigations in stores or other office locations within the tri-state area
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting a Retail operation
- Experience with Ultimate/Kronos or other HRIS
