Job Summary
HR Generalist balancing strategic workforce planning with day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, investigations, policy application, and payroll functions. Responsibilities include onboarding/offboarding, training/compliance, performance review management, union/nonunion payroll support, compensation guidance, HRIS audits, regulatory compliance (including Joint Commission-related requirements), and handling a broad range of HR processes for healthcare facilities; role requires travel between San Francisco and Marin facilities and collaboration with leadership to support a compliant, people-centric workplace.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or related field/PHR Certification (or equivalent experience)
- 1–3+ years of hands-on HR experience (healthcare or Acute LTAC strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment law and compliance (EEO, ADA/ADAAA, FMLA/CFRA, FLSA, anti-harassment/retaliation, wage & hour)
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
- Ability to lead diverse teams and proactively seek solutions
- Proactive initiative and diplomacy in communication
