HR Generalist / Recruiter

Job Summary

Administer HR policies, maintain employee records in UKG, and prepare reports for organizational charts and metrics. Manage employee benefits, including Open Enrollment and claims resolution, while coordinating FMLA, ADA, and Workers' Compensation processes. Lead full-cycle recruitment for corporate and field roles, from sourcing and screening to onboarding and orientation. Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies and leave, and deliver training on compliance and benefits. Support process improvements and special projects, ensuring adherence to EEO and Affirmative Action reporting requirements. Occasional evening or weekend work is required for Open Enrollment, with local travel for recruiting events.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and at least five years of relevant Human Resources and/or administrative experience
  • Experience administering HRIS platforms, preferably UKG (UltiPro)
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Experience managing benefits administration, leave management, employee relations, and recruitment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and conflict-resolution abilities
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems
  • Occasional evening or weekend work required to support Open Enrollment and other HR events
  • Occasional local travel for recruiting events, job fairs, and visits to other Smart City locations
  • Regular exposure to sensitive and confidential employee information, requiring sound judgment and discretion
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening [and motor vehicle and credit check, if applicable to this role]
  • Job-related concerns identified during the background screening process will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis

Desired Qualifications

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification
