Job Summary
HR Generalist role supporting the full associate lifecycle at the Newport News facility. Day-to-day responsibilities include Talent Acquisition & onboarding, leading performance review processes, associate relations and investigations, benefits administration and compliance, training and development, HR operations (payroll approvals, time corrections, HRIS transactions), and program-management support for social responsibility and safety initiatives. Requires strong written and verbal communication across all organizational levels, experience with Workday, knowledge of FMLA/ADA/COBRA/EEOC/HIPAA, and an HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR or equivalent). The role involves partnering with HR Managers and frontline leaders to drive talent development, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain confidential handling of sensitive information in a manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in associate relations, conflict management, and HR investigations
- HR Certification: SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar
- Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, EEOC, HIPAA
- Workday experience
- Benefits administration and compliance
- Strong communication and data-analysis skills
- Ability to handle confidential information and perform HR investigations
- Payroll approvals and HRIS transactions
- Ability to support training and development across the organization
- Experience in performance management and employee relations
Desired Qualifications
- SHRM-CP or PHR or similar professional HR certification
