Job Summary
HR Generalist / Payroll Specialist role in the Hamptons focused on overseeing weekly payroll, ensuring compliance with wage/hour laws, administering benefits and HR processes (FMLA, NYPFL, workers’ comp, COBRA, disability), HRIS maintenance, timekeeping, and employee inquiries. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred) and at least 5 years of payroll/HR experience; Spanish fluency is required. Location is Bridgehampton, NY; full-time, office-based with no relocation assistance. Responsibilities include payroll processing, payroll data audits, maintaining payroll records (including 401(k) and other deductions), HR system administration, benefits administration, timekeeping, PTO accruals, and responding to payroll/benefits inquiries; potential involvement in audits and reporting, ability to maintain confidentiality, and strong communication skills. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll administration and HR support
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, compliance, and HR best practices
- Experience with payroll systems (ADP WorkforceNow, HRIS platforms, and benefits administration tools)
- Payroll certification (CPP or FPC) preferred, not required
- SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred, not required
- Fluency in Spanish (written and verbal) is required to effectively support a diverse workforce
