Job Summary

Serve as primary HR contact for assigned business functions, providing consultative support to leaders and employees across designated departments. Coach supervisors on employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation while conducting workplace investigations and supporting disciplinary actions. Lead end-to-end recruitment including requisition creation, sourcing, screening, and hiring coordination, and oversee HRIS onboarding, offboarding, and I-9 compliance. Process employee changes, manage workers' compensation claims, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws. Maintain accurate personnel files, analyze HR reports, and recommend process improvements. This hybrid role (Tues-Thursday onsite, M & F remote optional) requires regular travel throughout Napa, Sonoma, and Central California wineries.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources principles and employment practices
  • Knowledge of California employment law
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong conflict resolution and coaching abilities
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Demonstrated professionalism and sound judgment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using HRIS, payroll, and performance management systems
  • Ability to travel regularly to assigned winery locations
  • Two to five years of progressive Human Resources and Talent Acquisition experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

Desired Qualifications

  • Multi-state experience
  • Experience supporting employee relations, investigations, performance management, and HR administration
  • Experience within the wine, agriculture, manufacturing, or hospitality industries
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification
  • Experience with Paylocity, or comparable HRIS platforms
  • Experience supporting multiple business locations
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Experience delivering manager coaching and employee training
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and benefits administration
