Job Summary
The Human Resource Generalist role focuses on benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, and employment-law compliance within the assigned office. Responsibilities include conducting new hire orientation and processing new hires into the HRIS, maintaining employee records and payroll/benefits data, managing corrective actions and terminations, supporting payroll, backing up the receptionist, coordinating benefit enrollments, aiding in investigations, responding to unemployment claims and garnishments, ensuring compliance with federal/state laws, and assisting with reporting and process improvements. The position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to handle confidential information; a HS diploma/GED is required, with a degree and/or PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred, and at least two years of related HR experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Degree in human resources or business administration and/or PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred
- Two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with employee relations, HRIS (UltiPro), and benefits highly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct new hire orientation and process onboarding into HRIS
- Knowledge of payroll processes and benefits administration
- Ability to comply with laws and regulations related to HR and employment
- Ability to handle confidential information and multi-task
- Pre-employment background check clearance
- Security clearance process for federal contractor employment
- Citizenship requirement for security clearance
