HR Generalist

Job Summary
Administer employee benefits, coordinate leave management including FMLA and ADA accommodations, and oversee workers' compensation claims from injury reporting to return-to-work processes. Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures, and prepare HR reports and compliance documentation. Support day-to-day HR operations, policy development, and process improvements with strict confidentiality. This onsite role at Bone Dry Roofing offers a trusted, family-owned environment with weekly pay and a 401K match.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Two or more years of Human Resources experience in a generalist or related HR role
- Experience administering workers' compensation claims and leave management programs
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and workers' compensation regulations
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Pass a background check and Pre-employment Drug Screen
- This is an onsite position at our Indianapolis office location (this is not a remote position)
Desired Qualifications
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
- Experience with payroll processing and benefits administration
- Experience with Leave Management, FMLA, LOA, Workers Compensation, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, and other protected leaves
- Experience supporting a multi-state/multi-site organization
- Spanish/English bilingual
