Job Summary
HR Coordinator responsible for coordinating recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, and ongoing HR operations in California. Role supports compliance with employment laws and company policies, maintains HRIS and employee records, administers leave and benefits programs, handles employee communications and engagement initiatives, generates HR reports, supports safety and risk management, and partners with internal teams and vendors to ensure efficient HR operations. Seeks an organized, professional candidate with strong communication skills, ability to handle confidential information, experience in employee onboarding/training, and proficiency with HRIS, ATS, and graphic-design tools to create communications and materials that support HR programs and workplace culture.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of California labor law, wage and hour requirements, leave administration, and employment compliance
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Positive, professional, and customer-service-oriented approach
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience creating professional employee communications, flyers, newsletters, presentations, and recognition materials using graphic design and office productivity software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, HRIS systems, and applicant tracking systems
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Affinity Publisher, or similar graphic design software preferred
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now and recruiting platforms preferred
- Physical requirements described (hands, vision, walking, stairs)
- Employment contingent upon background check, drug test, functional assessment
