Job Summary
Human Resources Business Partner supporting the PACE of Southwest Michigan in St. Joseph, MI. Primary responsibilities include advising leaders on culture-building, employee relations, and coaching; ensuring compliance with Michigan labor laws; diagnosing issues from data; delivering training and feedback to strengthen teams; and partnering across a diverse organization serving aging adults. Requires a Bachelor's in HR/Labor Relations/Business Admin (or equivalent), two years in team member relations, and travel for meetings and events. Occasional travel and a focus on conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation are emphasized; the role emphasizes collaboration, leadership guidance, and building credible relationships across levels.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration or equivalent experience
- Two years of team member relations experience
- Comprehensive understanding of labor laws and regulations, particularly in Michigan
- Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation skills
- Ability to balance the interests of multiple stakeholders and drive toward consensus
- Ability to build credibility, trust, and resilient relationships with team members of all levels
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration or equivalent experience
- Two years of team member relations experience
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification
- Advanced degree or HR certification (Nice-to-Have)
- Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and mediation skills
