Job Summary
Process employment applications, conduct preliminary interviews, and maintain Affirmative Action records while evaluating applicant eligibility. Explain personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees and applicants, then coordinate new hire orientations and annual benefit enrollment. Process and verify documentation for staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, and performance evaluations, including all FMLA and Short-term disability claims. Enter personnel information, benefit changes, and leave absences into Workday, answer employee inquiries regarding sensitive matters, and examine files to support personnel actions. Greet callers, answer multi-line phones, and assist the HR Manager with safety activities. Requires three years of office experience, familiarity with employment law, and proficiency with MS Office. Full or part-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree
- Three years office type work experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with employment law, including FMLA, ADA, WC, and COBRA
- Proficiency with MS Office
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
- Attention to detail in composing, typing, filing, and proofing materials
- Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
- Willingness to work needed hours to assure successful team results and to assure closure of team assignments
- Comfort working with all levels of management
