Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive cardiology care by taking medical histories, performing examinations, and treating patients. Order and interpret diagnostic tests including x-rays, CT scans, and MRIs to make diagnoses. Prescribe medications and coordinate ancillary services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and behavioral health consults. Provide patient education as indicated while collaborating with a supervising physician. Work in a physician office setting serving adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with a flexible schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner program
- Registered PA or APRN license, or eligible for license, in state of Georgia
- AHA BLS CPR
- Demonstration of clinical competency in the Advanced Practice Provider role
- Demonstration of clinical competency in the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner role
- Demonstration of qualities of leadership and sound clinical judgment
- Ability to effectively communicate with patients, fellow co-workers and other members of the health care team
- Ability to effectively interpret, implement and support hospital policies, regulations, philosophy and objectives
- Required to work flexible schedule
- Ability to work with patients and significant others in possible stressful and emotional situations
- Requires full range of body motion including possible lifting and handling patients
- Potential to work in acute care hospital environment
Desired Qualifications
- Two years' experience preferred
