Job Summary
Analyze compiler optimizations and runtime components to improve performance of HPC applications across single-core to multi-node multi-GPU systems. Evaluate impacts of device drivers and system configurations on application efficiency, then communicate compiler capability limits to application engineering teams. Port applications to diverse platforms and programming models while collaborating with compiler and application development groups. Requires BS/MS in Computer Science, 5+ years of programming experience, and deep expertise in Fortran, C, C++, OpenACC, OpenMP, MPI, and CUDA. Base salary ranges from $152,000 to $241,500 USD with equity eligibility. This role sits within NVIDIA's NVHPC compilers & tools group, leveraging the company's 25-year legacy in accelerated computing and AI infrastructure.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related engineering field
- 5+ years of programming experience
- Solid understanding of Fortran, C, C++, and programming techniques, especially for parallel architectures, preferably for compilers
- Experience with OpenACC, OpenMP, MPI, CUDA and Standard Language Parallelism
- Strong skills in performance analysis and tuning, as well as a broad understanding of parallel applications development tools and runtime environments
- Strong mathematical fundamentals, including linear algebra and numerical methods
- Expert interpersonal skills
- A logical approach to problem-solving
- Good time management, and task prioritization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work in a dynamic development team
Desired Qualifications
- A deep understanding of machine architectures and micro-architectures
- Experience with debugging and porting as well as assembly language programming
