Job Summary

Image, configure, and upgrade servers with Linux operating systems, including firmware updates and switch configuration to support HPC cluster provisioning and validation workflows. Manage root slots hosting varied OS images, provide design guidance for virtualized lab infrastructure, and oversee high-performance storage solutions like Lustre for sales and benchmarking activities. Troubleshoot power, CPU, and GPU issues, coordinate facility transitions, and implement job scheduling tools to maximize lab utilization. Prioritize lab requests, mentor junior staff, and communicate risks to management while adhering to cybersecurity standards. This role supports government accounts within the Data Center Administration team, requiring U.S. citizenship due to federal export-control regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent resident/Green Card status or otherwise have a category of refugee/asylee status enabling them to perform the role without requiring a license under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of Linux system administration experience
  • Experience preferably in HPC, AI, or lab-based environments
  • Strong expertise in Linux system administration
  • Working knowledge of networking
  • Working knowledge of storage
  • Working knowledge of virtualization
  • Working knowledge of hardware platforms
  • Working knowledge of Linux systems
  • Working knowledge of lab operations
  • Working knowledge of HPC/AI infrastructure
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal forms
  • Ability to collaborate well with diverse technical teams
  • Service-oriented mindset when supporting internal teams, partners, and stakeholders
  • Deep technical knowledge of Linux systems, lab operations, and HPC/AI infrastructure
  • Ability to break down complex technical issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and reliability
  • Onsite work location at an HPE office
  • Ability to work with remote administrators, vendors, and partners
