HPC AI Linux Systems Administrator

Senior Linux System Administrator for HPC & AI lab environments. Responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining Linux-based servers and lab infrastructure, including virtualization, high-performance storage (Lustre), and hardware diagnostics. Lead lab operations, coordinate resource usage and lab transitions, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with AI benchmarking and performance engineering teams to meet internal, partner, and customer requirements. Provide escalation-level troubleshooting, ensure cybersecurity and asset protection standards, and work with remote administrators, vendors, and partners as needed. Must hold U.S. citizenship or eligible status due to export-control regulations; hybrid work model requires ~2 days per week onsite at an HPE facility. Education and experience emphasize a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 5-7 years of Linux admin experience, preferably in HPC/AI labs. The role reports to the Data Center Administration Manager and involves lab design guidance, capacity planning, and lab expansion planning, along with mentoring staff and communicating lab risks and successes to management.
