Job Summary
Coordinate housing assessments to determine participants' housing readiness, family composition, and needs. Identify permanent housing by maintaining linkages with landlords, brokers, and agencies, while inspecting apartments for compliance with city, state, and local standards. Guide clients and staff on housing-related issues, assist in completing applications for subsidies like Advantage NYC and Section 8, and interview candidates to verify income and suitability. Maintain tracking forms, provide accurate reports, and facilitate OOR processes including registration and linkage. Work a flexible schedule as needed, travel to view apartments, and reconcile placements while verifying documentation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Six Months to One Year of comparable housing or real estate experience working with the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) or other similar city-operated organizations
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds

- Willingness to participate in CPR and First Aid training
- Willingness to travel in the community to view available apartments with program participants
- Available to work a flexible schedule as needed in response to participant and staff needs
