Job Summary
Coordinate housing assessments to determine participants' housing readiness, family composition, and specific needs. Maintain linkages with landlords, brokers, and realty agencies while guiding clients through applications for subsidies like Advantage NYC and Section 8. Inspect apartments for compliance with city standards and interview candidates to verify income and suitability for placement. Assist case managers in developing housing plans, facilitate OOR processes, and reconcile placements with accurate documentation. Support residents in securing safe, permanent, and affordable housing within the greater New York Area.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Six Months to One Year of comparable housing or real estate experience working with the NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) or other similar city-operated organizations
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
Desired Qualifications
- Willingness to participate in CPR and First Aid training
- Willingness to travel in the community to view available apartments with program participants
- Available to work a flexible schedule as needed in response to participant and staff needs
