Job Summary

Guide clients through rental applications, resource identification, and lease signing while coordinating housing inspections to ensure safety standards are met. Provide tenancy-based education, conflict resolution, and landlord mediation assistance to promote housing retention and seamless transitions from temporary to permanent supportive housing. Develop individualized housing plans, assess tenancy problems, and cultivate landlord partnerships to expand safe, affordable housing options. Maintain client records, documentation, and HMIS data in compliance with grant requirements and electronic health record formats.

Required Qualifications

  • Personal vehicle with current automobile insurance
  • Valid Maryland driver's license
  • Two years of experience in connecting individuals to essential services including healthcare, mental health, and addiction services
  • Willingness to adopt Harm Reduction and Housing First principles and apply them to work with clients
  • Approaches change with a positive, open-minded attitude
  • Demonstrates personal integrity and has well-developed interpersonal skills necessary to engage clients and promote positive relationships with other community agencies and providers
  • Displays strong attention to detail and notices discrepancies easily
  • Able to be flexible and work as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Able to take initiative and problem solve
  • Able to work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile clients
  • All newly hired employees are required to complete the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification form and provide documentation proving their identity and legal authorization to work in the United States

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in human services or related field
  • Experience working with permanent supportive housing programs that utilize rental assistance, tenant-based vouchers and project-based vouchers
  • Experience working in a health care setting
  • Knowledge of Baltimore City community resources for addiction, social services and mental health
