Job Summary
Develop housing leads and resources for youth aging out of care, facilitating workshops to build independent living skills and advocating with landlords and brokers. Assist participants with securing subsidies, navigating housing court, and accessing services through agencies like NYCHA, Section 8, and legal providers. Maintain accurate documentation in CONNECTIONS and Care4, complete 3- and 6-month assessments, and represent the agency at discharge and permanency planning conferences. Collaborate with casework staff and property managers to implement individualized goals and ensure housing requirements are met.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree
- Ability to work independently

- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ability to use public transportation systems, including subways and busses
- commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective
- knowledge of Connections and Microsoft Suite
- ability to work a flexible schedule when needed including some evenings, weekends, and holidays
- commitment to GSS models of practice including Sanctuary and ACS principles
- good basic knowledge of housing field and service options
- Minimum of one year's experience in child welfare or related systems
