Job Summary
This role as a Housing Specialist focuses on managing and administering housing vouchers, ensuring compliance with federal and state housing regulations. Responsibilities include maintaining high occupancy levels for HUD and State of Colorado housing voucher programs, monitoring re-exam due dates, performing inspections, tracking rental payments, administering program exits, and managing housing voucher wait lists. The role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail, alongside effective communication with clients and community partners.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
- Knowledge of Housing Voucher programs, Shelter Plus Care, and State Housing Voucher programs, including HUD and State Division of Housing rules and regulations required.
- Verbal and written communication skills and ability to convey complex information in a clear fashion.
- Ability to communicate about housing and behavioral health issues.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience with the unhoused community or in a community mental health setting preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 21 and have a current Colorado drivers license and a safe driving record.
