Job Summary
Experienced Construction Manager to support the Great Sand Dunes National Park housing project. Key responsibilities include reading, interpreting, and applying the Construction Contract, Plans, and Specifications; effective communication with project stakeholders; overseeing housing/residential construction and tenant relocation; ensuring compliance with construction practices, building codes, and safety regulations; facilitating pre-construction, in-progress, post-construction inspections, and mock-up reviews; reviewing detailed cost estimates and evaluating proposals; identifying scope changes requested by the National Park Service or due to site conditions; utilizing Procore and Microsoft Teams for daily tasks; creating and managing files in Word, Excel, PDF, MS Project, and other CM software. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 15 years of experience (10+ on similar projects), housing/residential construction and tenant relocation experience, OSHA 30 training, familiarity with federal government project processes, and proficiency with CM tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in construction management or a directly related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction or construction management, including at least 10 years on residential or commercial construction projects of similar scope and magnitude
- Must have experience with projects involving housing/residential construction and tenant relocation
- Completion of OSHA 30-hour construction safety training
- Knowledge and experience performing duties on construction projects similar in scope, magnitude, and complexity, including housing/residential construction with tenant relocation plans
- Knowledge of construction practices, applicable building codes, and safety regulations, with the ability to facilitate, understand, and document pre-inspections, inspections during construction, post-inspections, and inspect mock-ups
- Proficient with computers and mobile devices, including Procore, Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Adobe PDF, MS Project, and other construction management software
- Experience working with Federal Government Project Managers/CORs, including processing change requests, RFIs, submittals, and field observation reports
