Job Summary
Housing Operations Manager at Discovery House (University of Maryland graduate housing) responsible for overseeing operational functions, resident services, licensing processes, accounts payable/receivable, and customer service. Serves as liaison with campus partners (Graduate School, Department of Resident Life). Supervises staff (Housing Services Coordinator, Accounts Coordinator, Facilities Team), manages resident communications, licensing, billing, and occupancy processes, maintains records in StarRez/Entrata, supports surveys and action planning, collaborates on facilities and community enhancements, and resides on-site with duty rotation. Requires bachelor’s degree, 2-3 years in student housing operations, staff supervision experience, knowledge of housing management systems, strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, and willingness to live on campus and be available for peak-period moves and events. Salary $60,000-$64,000 with comprehensive benefits; exempt status.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2-3 years of experience as a full-time professional in student housing administration/operations
- Experience supervising employees including hiring, training, coaching, performance management, and staff development
- Knowledge of student housing management systems such as StarRez and Entrata
- Ability to work onsite during standard business hours, 9:00am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings/weekends
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
