Housing Operations Coordinator (Student Development Specialist II)

Job Summary
Conduct building, space, and furniture inspections to maintain the best living environment for students in residence halls. Coordinate with contracted entities to address custodial, maintenance, and facility needs while monitoring work order progress and approving furniture purchases. Supervise student staff including Desk Assistants, providing training, scheduling support, and performance management. Serve as the liaison between students, staff, and facilities personnel regarding residential concerns, ADA accommodations, and safety walkthroughs. Plan educational programs and conduct hearings for student conduct cases while participating in campus committees and student activities. Live on campus in a provided apartment and participate in an on-call rotation for emergency response and crisis management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One year of experience in student affairs work or related specialty
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of StarRez, Onity, Ving/VisiOnline
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
- Live on campus in Residence Hall Apartment
- Some required weekend/evening responsibilities
- Serves on an on-call rotation
- Ability to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to perform various inspections
- Conduct site visits
- Represent Campus Living & Learning at meetings regarding services provided by SSC and external vendors for maintenance, renovation, and construction projects
- Provide needed assistance and redundancy with StarRez software, housing assignments, occupancy management, and departmental processes
- Assist with continuity of residential operations during staff vacancies or extended absences
- Temporarily assume select supervisory and operational responsibilities
- Serves as the liaison between students, Campus Living & Learning staff, Disability Resources, and facilities personnel regarding residential facility concerns and approved housing accommodations
- Coordinate modifications to residential spaces and furnishings necessary to implement approved ADA and housing accommodation requests
- Communicates timelines for substantial repairs within residential rooms
- Organizes residence hall opening and closing processes with other live-on staff
- Schedules and coordinates safety walkthroughs
- Maintains signage and community spaces within residence hall buildings
- Takes part in a Divisional Curriculum by planning, developing and implementing educational programs within the residence halls
- Serves as a student conduct hearing officer and adjudicates assigned residential conduct cases in accordance with university policies and procedures
- Attends, participates in, and helps plan numerous Student Activities events
- Assists in the presentation of leadership workshops/campus orientations and other presentations as needed
- Serves on campus committees
- May advise various student groups
- Responds to campus emergencies and works an on-call shift 1-2 weeks and weekends a month
- Compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures
- All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements

Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs-related field
- 2+ years of experience in Housing and operations or a Student Affairs related field at a professional/graduate level
