Housing Navigator

The Housing Navigator supports members and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing housing by researching and linking to housing opportunities, developing individualized housing plans, and coordinating with landlords and community resources. This hybrid role works in Santa Barbara County with field visits and remote work, requiring scheduling flexibility, mileage reimbursement eligibility, and in-person housing assessments. Responsibilities include building housing opportunities lists, negotiating with landlords, assisting with rental applications, explaining tenant rights, mediating landlord-tenant communications, conducting follow-up, documenting objectives and outcomes in HMIS, participating in team meetings, and adhering to policies and safety regulations. Must be fluent in English; bilingual in Spanish is preferred. Required qualifications include a Diploma/GED, 2+ years in relevant health/social services, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current BLS certification. The position involves travel within designated areas and the ability to work across diverse settings such as homes, shelters, hospitals, and community organizations.
