Job Summary
The Housing Navigator will assist households with Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHV) in finding and securing housing within 120 days. Responsibilities include engaging with EHV recipients, assisting them with the necessary documentation, coordinating apartment interviews, providing housing listings, and educating tenants about their rights. Preferred candidates should have experience in housing applications, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in housing, homelessness, case management, or a related field
- Experience working with young people and young adults experiencing homelessness
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with the housing process and housing applications in NYC
- Experience working with landlords, brokers, and the rental market in NYC
- Experience in case management or project management
- Proficiency with computers, navigating in multiple systems and web-based applications
- Bilingual - proficiency in French, Spanish, or Arabic preferred
