Job Summary
The Housing Navigator identifies safe, sanitary, and affordable housing opportunities for eligible clients, engages landlords to build housing reserves, conducts housing searches and lease/contract negotiations, coordinates Housing Quality Standards inspections, maintains HMIS data, and liaises with tenants, landlords, case managers, and external partners to prevent homelessness. Responsibilities include landlord outreach, program coordination, compliance with HUD standards, data management, community engagement, and ongoing collaboration with agency staff while upholding the mission and values of St. Vincent de Paul CARES. Strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations are required. Must be able to work a flexible schedule and pass required background screening. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and Florida driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
- Excellent communication and listening skills in English
- Basic computer skills
- Valid Florida driver’s license if driving a vehicle for company business
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task
- Sales experience or ability to promote housing options
- Experience with landlord engagement or real estate is preferred
- Background screening at Level 2 required
- Knowledge of landlord-tenant law, rental contracts, and fair housing is preferred
- Ability to interact with diverse populations
- Team collaboration and public speaking abilities
