Job Summary
Conduct permanent housing development for Veterans in the HUD-VASH program by locating suitable units, maintaining inventory, and communicating with landlords. Assist Veterans with direct housing searches, including viewing apartments, preparing applications, securing deposits, and placing furniture. Perform housing inspections to ensure safety and adequacy while educating families on community resources and VA benefits. Coordinate with the interdisciplinary treatment team, primary care providers, and community agencies to facilitate placement and wellness education. Participate in placement meetings and serve as a liaison between the VA and housing resources.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- one to two years of related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Qualifications
- Honorably discharged veterans
- Prior experience with Housing First and Rapid Rehousing
- knowledge of HMIS
- SSI/SSDI Outreach Access and Recovery (SOAR) Certification
