Job Summary
Monitor client behavior and activities in Salvation Army emergency housing facilities while ensuring compliance with shelter rules and protecting staff and client safety. Provide security for building grounds by observing residential dorms, manage vehicle parking, and prevent property vandalism. Monitor telephones, security cameras, and fire alarm systems to notify authorities and supervisors of emergencies. Maintain awareness of activities outside the building and handle moderately heavy materials as required. First Aid and C.P.R. certification and Narcan training are required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- Ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (less than 25 – 50lbs) materials, supplies, and equipment
- Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and climbing stairs frequently
- First Aid and C.P.R. Certification
- Narcan training
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Six months' experience working with the public
- Experience working in a security or social service environment
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
