Job Summary
Accept and process residents staying in lodge or shelter overnight, preparing and monitoring client intake cards while determining shelter beds for new clients. Monitor lodge and shelter resident activity to ensure safety, security, and compliance with house rules, checking windows, doors, and cameras while making periodic facility rounds. Maintain accurate records and logs, inputting data into the computer to generate client lists, and distribute meal tickets, linens, and medications as required. Complete required paperwork representing client intake for the day and ensure the facility remains neat and orderly. Work evenings Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with a level 2 background screening.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action
- Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis
- Ability to work with the public encompassing all types of behaviors
- Ability to work independently and with limited supervision while enforcing established policies and procedures
- Must be able to work evenings
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience performing security or social service work preferred
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
