Job Summary
Housing Inspector conducts HUD-compliant inspections of properties subsidized with rental assistance, prepares reports, and enforces compliance with HUD regulations. Performs rent comparability analyses and determines utility allowances; analyzes market data and rent reasonableness, Payments Standards, and Fair Market Rents. Inspections cover grounds, structures, building systems, and equipment; communicates with owners/tenants and agency staff; identifies deficiencies and prepares memos and reports; recommends corrective actions and timelines. May coordinate special tasks/projects, ensure timely inspections, and support continuous improvement in service delivery to residents, landlords, and agency operations.
